Hence, it is instructed to lessen the habit of smoking. Excess smoking may lead to deeper periodontal pockets which may cause infection to seat deeper into the gums. People who have misaligned, or crowns are prone to get this disease. Also, people who wear braces or have undergone bridgework may also have to suffer periodontal disease. If left untreated, patients with periodontal disease are unable to brush or floss their teeth. Hence, it is best to keep your teeth clean and brushed regularly. People who have undergone grind teeth procedure usually complain of inflamed gums. The excess inflammation may cause periodontal disease process. Thus, it is better to get an effective guard that stops permanent grinding of the teeth. Stress is said to be a big factor that weakens your immune system thus, reducing the ability of body to fight against infections. People who are suffering from periodontal disease and stress at the same time are unable to ward off the infectious process. Hence, it is better to check your stress level so as to boost your immunity to fight off infections. Sometimes, hormonal changes can actually increase the level of gum disease. It simply means whenever the body goes through a change, there is a high chance that you can catch the symptoms of periodontal diseases. Thus, women especially at the time of puberty and pregnancy are likely to suffer a bad teeth day. |
